Privacy by Design

Privacy by Design is the principle of incorporating privacy protections into products, systems, and business processes from the beginning rather than adding them after deployment.

Under Article 25 of the GDPR, controllers must implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to apply data protection principles effectively.

Examples may include collecting only necessary information, limiting access, applying appropriate retention rules, integrating privacy reviews into development processes, and ensuring default settings protect personal information.

Privacy by Design makes privacy part of normal product and operational decision-making rather than a final compliance check.
