Personal Data

Personal data is information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.

Under the GDPR, personal data can include obvious identifiers such as a name, email address, or identification number, as well as information such as IP addresses, location data, device identifiers, or other characteristics that can identify a person directly or indirectly.

Whether information qualifies as personal data depends on the context and whether an individual can reasonably be identified from the information available.

Organizations processing personal data must comply with applicable requirements concerning lawful processing, transparency, security, retention, and individual rights.
