April 2024 MineOS Product Updates
After dropping our brand new AI Asset Discovery and Risk Assessment module last month, the team was focused on support and quality of life improvements over the past several weeks. If you haven't yet read about the new module, see the product details here or check out the module's page here.
There's so much to say about it, but we've taken a practical approach to AI, as no organization can hope to police such vast and influential technology without visibility into where it lives in the organization and how it is being used. The new AI Governance module offers a dual solution to both asset discovery and risk assessment, so users can rest easy knowing they understand the scope of AI within their organization and can quickly produce impact assessments for compliance with the EU AI Act. that is particularly tailored to address the nuanced requirements of the EU AI Act.
As for the updates rolled out in April, they are highlighted by:
More Detail in Custom Systems
With this latest update to MineOS, users can further edit the custom data sources or systems they’ve added to their data source inventory - including the ability to upload a custom icon for each system, and add a category, name, description and other qualifiers that simplifies managing their data inventory.
By giving users more control over how they visually sort and identify data sources, it will be more intuitive to stay on top of critical data systems as well as ensure no system is ever overlooked.
Data Subject Requests in Jira
This is a critical integration for users relying on Jira for task management, particularly handling Data Subject Requests. In the latest MineOS update, when you use a DSR workflow that requires input from another employee - for example, to clear data from a specific system they’re responsible for - you can have MineOS send an internal DSR ticket via email and also directly open a task for that employee in Jira at the same time.
Given Jira's popularity in both enterprises and SMBs globally, expanding this capability to the system for better product management and tracking was a focus this month.
What's next up for the MineOS platform?
Stayed tuned for our May product updates in a few weeks, which will be headlined by some major upgrades to the platform's DSR handling that will make privacy professionals' lives a whole lot easier.
